Quick health check for your project

Orangeintree

Reflecting on what is helping me to keep the momentum on my new idea... here is a quick health check I thought I would share :-)

What are you doing?
something inspiring? With enough frequency of action and good cycle for reflection on it?

Who are you learning from?
at least peers to bounce ideas off and get feedback from? And possibly mentors/coaches, those who are further down the line and those that are experts in the change process?

What is feeding your mind?
Garbage in, garbage out! Stay aware of what you are allowing to input into your system. It has a pretty direct impact on your state of mind.

If you have affirmative answers to the above questions, it's likely you are onto something good! and if not, then do something about it!

Every so often I play with this thought experiment which is about creating your own circumstances so I thought I would capture it somewhere!

 1. Look at your life right now and give it a number between one and 10. Do not think too much. If you have to ask questions about how to work out the number it means you are thinking too much. Just take a deep breath and go with the number that comes up.
2. Now look at yourself. Look at your attitude and how it shifts as you move through the day. Look at how it has been over the past few days. Over the past 9 months. Don't just look at the average attitude you carry around with you. Look also at the peaks and troughs you have gone through and how long they last. Now give yourself a rating, between 1 and 10, for the extent to which you have maintained the most empowering attitude you could possibly have during your waking hours over the past 9 months.
3. Notice the correlation between your answer to 1 and 2.

This always leads me to act on the following optional step

 4. Make a decision to choose your attitude and to not let yourself off the hook with one single errant thought. Thoughts may appear in your mind but you do not have to believe them. (For one of the best sources in the world on releasing thoughts that stress and disempower you, see www.thework.com.)

Nurture your Zing! It's your life and you are the only one who can.
